We are delighted to bring you our 13th consecutive summer of Camp China!  Come explore the language, culture, history, and traditions of both ancient and modern China in a diverse, loving, and creative environment in Rockville, Maryland.  Our program is designed for children ages 5 to 14 and is divided into two 2-week sessions.

Our camp is devoted to immersing your child in Mandarin Chinese and cultural arts through fun and high quality activities.  Mornings are devoted to Chinese language with a focus on spoken Mandarin through songs. Afternoons center on physical activities in martial arts and traditional Chinese dance.  Chinese cooking, arts and crafts, games, singing, and calligraphy are core curricular components.  New elements are always introduced and integrated into our curriculum.

On the second Thursday of each session, families and friends are invited to a performance where campers will demonstrate their newly developed cultural skills.  Be sure to join us to celebrate your child’s accomplishments.

Performance dates are on July 13 and July 27 from 3 to 4 p.m.

Campers are responsible for their own lunches, snacks, and water bottles daily.  Lunch is available for purchase on Tuesdays (Chinese food) and Thursdays (pizza).

Camp China is staffed with experienced bilingual instructors, counselors, and junior counselors.  Our director has taught Chinese language and culture in the Washington, D.C. area for more than 30 years and specializes in curriculum development.

We participate in the Montgomery County Public Schools volunteer program where junior high and high school students can earn SSI hours by being volunteer counselors at the camp.  Interested students should email us for information and procedure.

This year, our first session is from July 3 (Monday) to July 14 (open July 4). Our second session is from July 17 (Monday) to July 28.  Camp hours are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily.  We offer complimentary morning care from 8 to 9 a.m.  Afternoon extended care is available from 4 to 6 p.m. for an additional fee.
